Sorry, but how do you pronounce "Boker?"

Hi folks,

Since I'm german, I thought I would be the right guy to finally solve this problem :-)

"Böker" is pronounced just like the german word "böse" (=angry, mean, evil)

Here you can listen to this word pronounced correctly.

Just cut off the "-se" from "böse" and add "-ker" to it and there you are.

Ok..... how to pronounce the "-ker"? I couldn't find a real good example for that, but here you can hear "Böser Geist". Forget the second word, put a "k" instead of the "s" and that's it.

This all reminds me of an old joke about the WW2 allied pilot that was describing a dogfight he was in. The punch line is, "No, dem Fockers was flyin' Messerschmidtts!!

B
ö (like it sounds in the word "böse" that's given in the audio files)
k
err (like in "ERRor" but with a "german" R :-)

The "-err" sometimes is pronounced as a short a (like in "truck") when talking fast, but more clean and correct would be the "-errr".

.... basically, I think it would be wise to just record the right pronounciation and put it online :-) ... if somebody provides the webspace for that

Now, either I totally understand how to say it or I'm really confused.
Either way, I'm happy to be an owner of some of Boeker's, Boker's, Baker's, Booker's, Beeker's fine knives.
Now matter how you say it, I know I've got something great.

Many thanks (Danke), Murdoc. That's just about how I imagined the sound in my mind (the o with umlaut).

This kind of reminds me of a friend of mine. You can ask him what time it is and he'll tell you how to build a watch. :D

Thanks for trying to pronounce BÖKER correctly!
It is definitely a sound that is not used in English.
The easiest way would be listening to the sound files or just give me a call, and I will repeat the word BÖKER as often as you wish!
