Sorry edges on Buck/Mayo TNT's

For what its worth, the pictures show a very uneven edge that would require hard reprofiling on the Sharpmaker diamond rods to get even. It would take Buck much less time to get it even and back to the factory edge. ( I dont like to change factory angles)

I saw the pic, and side one doesn't look too bad to me.
Side 2(opposite of Lock side) looks worse.
If you look at the Grind around the curve, it looks a bit thin, I think that's just how it was because of the deep convex grind. Mine looks kind of like that.

The grind lines on my Buck Mayo are very even, sorry you had a bad experience.

Buck service is great don't hesitate to contact them.

My comment relates mostly to 'knife 1 side 2 ' It looks like the edger rolled the knife in both directions. (the pic is Opp lock side)Buck 'll fix that in no time.Side 1 wasnt started at the heel evenly.
The server only allows 102400 bytes and the smallest pic was 112000.
Tony dont think you are being too picky. You did pay a good chunk of your allowence for it, but all will be good in the end.

I've got it in a Priority Mail box right here beside me. I'll stop at the PO on the way home and Buck should have it within a few days. I really look forward to getting it back and putting it to work.

I hope it is nothing serious. He will be in our prayers.

I'm out, thank God. It was pancreatitis. It felt like I'd been stabbed with a hot knife. As soon as my knife comes in from Buck, I'll post.

Tony

Its a bummer to read a thread like this and I hope everything got fixed to your satisfaction. Personally, I have never seen one that wasnt very very good.

I will volunteer to resharpen any BUCK MAYO that isnt razor sharp right out of the box, just sent it to me. TM

Tom,

Thanks for the offer, but I don't think mine could have come any sharper. Very sharp!

Josh,
Thanks for the good wishes!

Tom,
That is an outstanding offer, sir. I realize my mistake in trying to rectify the with the dealer. I should have just sent it to Buck.

I hope it comes in soon as I can't wait to put it to productive use. No safe queens for me (okay, maybe 1 or 2 :D )

I just (D'oh!) checked my tracking number and Buck received in on the 17th. A person with the initials JB signed for it. I would hope it ships back during the week of the 6 October.

I got an e-mail from Joe saying that they had fixed the problem and boy, did they. The grind on this blade is as good as any knife in my collection. Buck customer service is up there with the best.

Thanks to y'all on the forum for convincing me to send it to Buck. And thanks to Buck for doing right by me.

Tony

Tony,
I am glad you like the grind on that knife. My rework guy does not have much fur left on his arms from all the testing I make him do! I guess i should take his word for it that after 30 plus years, he knows what he is doing!
Thanks for taking the time to post!
