i had to buy the RTAK instead of the junglas due to price difference. i dont even like ontario knives. i believe they use shady business practice and have a low quality product. i owned one of their knives before and while i was new to sharpening, it didnt seem to hold an edge well. the sheathe was total garbage... it wouldnt hold the knife for anything... i had to tie my knife on with a knot when done using it. while this doesnt mean the knife isnt dependable it does speak about the quality of the product they sell as a unit. i remember their machetes had a big shattering problem... (highly unprofessional to be releasing so many knives when you dont even know wtf youre doing with a heat treat) after the rat-5 fiasco i bought an rc-3 and was very happy with the knife. though the sheath is pretty unimpressive and annoying at times... (not enough retention and low quality belt loop design. the string wouldnt even hold in my lashing position i had to tie it every which way through the holes and then sew the strings together to make sure it stays tight. i dont like how a company who likes to shaft their customers (ontario) tries to snuff out a smaller company who supplies better product... thats wrong and they can kiss my arse. so i really hate to be forced to go back to them but it seems like rat cutlery is slacking... i noticed you guys got rid of the stainless steel rivets. i assume its to cut down production costs (step 1 in becoming like ontario) so if this is your business model changing before my eyes i advise you against it you will lose me and probably other customers and respect. so basically i wish i didnt have to buy their knives because they are not respectable and i hope you dont follow the same path because quality product is rare in american economy...
