Sorry for lack of communication, I have been out of town on a job. I was gone longer than I thought. I have had little internet access. I have emailed Scott and his KMG should ship Monday(only because it needed to be crated). Also anyone that bought a knife, I didn't plan on being out of town this long, I planned on coming home after the first week and ship the knives. I have gladly refunded anyone that has asked, and will gladly refund anyone that does not want to wait a few weeks for their knife. Also I have heard that I said my Son wasn't shipping my KMG that is why it took so long, and some people went to my myspace and it said I didn't have kids. (Well my wife gets on to me all the time to update it) I do have kids and they are on her myspace page if anyone would like to view it.
I am a new maker and am not out to screw anyone or take money undeservingly. Hopefully some people will chime in that I have sold stuff to in the past, I have never screwed anyone. Also the KMG. He is getting a 2hp motor and VFD and I am paying shipping for taking so long to mail it. (Around $300). I don't know what else I can do to satify people, but I hope this shows that I am not a crook and, like I said anyone that wants a refund email me wilhurley@yahoo.com to make sure I get it ok. Again I am sorry.
Also hopefully when his KMG arrives next week he will let everyone know.

Wil,

For all the times I have emailed you in the past before I even joined Bladeforums, I always have thought of you as a very sincere person willing to help anyone that wanted it. No matter how many bazillion questions I asked you about whatever, you always replied to my emails with patience and kindness. Thank you. Though I have never bought a knife from you, I know you're not out to screw anyone over. It like many things was just a misunderstanding due to lack of communication. Many people don't check their emails daily that I deal with. I'd suggest in the future to put knives on hold for someone if you know you're gonna be leaving out of town to avoid anymore problems. You have a great future as a knifemaker and your stuff looks rock solid! Best of luck man.

I am going to chime in on this one also.......I made a down payment almost 6 weeks ago and haven't had 1 bit of return contact from Wil. I didn't want to bring it public as I understand things happen, but he seems to have addressed most everyone else and I have yet to hear anything after making a deposit on a blade.

i received an email from Wil on 8/20 saying he was going to be out of town for a couple weeks - so that may be why you havent gotten any response. in his email - he did offer to give me a refund if i didnt want to wait. like you, i would rather wait and receive a quality knife in return. thats why i bought the knife in the first place. i do agree however that there could have been better communication all the way around.
 
Another point to always remember when you don't get an email....
It doesn't necessarily mean that it wasn't sent. Many filters (often with your ISP) will block,delete, or route some emails to a junk file. Sometimes it is just a misspelled word or an abbreviation. I have my filter set to stop all those Ag-Vi-Ra adds. A friend sent me an email and had the street name "Bi-County Road" in it. He accidentally typed "Vi-County Road". I spotted the message when I was dumping the junk file.
My policy has always been to send a followup email after sending a payment or shipping a box to assure the item was received. If no reply, I try again in a week or two. Most knife people are juggling two or three jobs (counting knife work), things can happen.

I agree that an email here and there would have improved everything.

I also want to restate the need to check your junk email on occasion as some of the filters seem to make some odd decisions. Good stuff ends up in the trash at times.
 
You can never be too on top of things when it comes to your own reputation about getting the communication across to your customer to make sure you haven't forgotten about him! Especially if you already have some of his $$$$. Heck you can even be borderline annoying to your customer just to make sure he knows what the time frame is on the knife he is purchasing from you!
