Sorry, not about black etc. Here claiming patent? Say, waved otf?

Has it ever been made already? What Lapedog said is clear for me about speed opening
But closing sure is OTF’s most convenient side.
So, a pocket large enough or ripped enough, and a wave on slide button ?

I understand there is a language barrier. But if you expect actual answers and or discussion, you will need to post things that we have even the slightest chance of understanding. Remember that this is a predominantly English speaking forum. I'm not saying you need perfect English, I certainly don't have it, but the forum is based in an English speaking country.

Just trying to ascertain what you are asking about, I have come to this conclusion. A waved otf sounds like a solution looking for a problem.

Not a good idea. With a waved knife, the wave catches and opens the blade outside of your pocket. If you were to use a similar mechanism on an auto or a manual knife with a slide button, the blade will literally open up in your pocket. That is a great way to destroy your pants with the first draw, and or cut yourself severly.

Regarding use in a belt sheath, again, think about the draw. The sheath will fit the closed knife. When you "wave" it, it will open up when it still somewhat inside the sheath and the blade will hit the back not allowing it to open all the way.

If you want an OTF, get an OTF. If you want a waved folder, get a waved folder. If you want a quick draw knife on your belt, get a fixed blade.

As I understand it, the CRKT Provoke can be "waved" open by catching the back of the blade on the pocket while you pull the finger ring out. I'm not sure if the blade will spring open into your pocket if you do that though.
I know it's not a typical OTF auto but that's probably the closest you could get to what (I think) you're asking.

As an added bonus, the Provoke is very black.

Main reasons for needing a wave opener is speed for emergency / SD .

OTF would not be my choice for that . Or any hard use .

Also , I don't see how it could be done safely .

A wave hook on actuator button sounds like a bad idea.

It would be very quick though.

What? Wave the button so it fires when you pull it from the pocket? No. No, no, no, no. NO! It'd fire open IN your pocket!

I prefer to carry my mini, pocket carried 1911 .45 cocked AND locked. Cocked and unlocked draw from my pocket seems like a VERY bad idea.

If you’re worried about the convenience of closing a knife intended for fighting you probably should not be pulling a knife in a fight.

OTF is probably good enough to scare many attackers away but it is still mostly a fancy toy. (Edit to backpeddle stupid blanket statement): there are some pretty strong OTFs like the Hawk Deadlock

I will post a video when I get home for you filtrum so you can understand better.

It opens itself otf when you draw it from the sheath.

Hi Filtrum.

Yes, an OTF waved automatic prototype pocket knife has been made. Once. Unfortunately, the developer bled to death during the first test deployment. His next of kin are currently fighting among themselves to forfeit the right to patent/produce the knife.

On a positive note, I understand the OTF waved automatic prototype was entirely and completely black. Here's a picture of the prototype...
