Sorta OT: powertool question

Pen, I dont understand. There no gun equipment on this table? Do you have seperate gun table or?

Munk = LOL! :D

Sorry, bro. No guns for me. If I ever get a firearm, it will be a 6' long musket. Has to be big engouh, heavy enough, and complicated enough to ensure that no kid is going to pick it up and accidentally set it off. ;)

Nothing against guns...I'm right there with the rest of y'all on gun support. Just trying to keep my own life simplified.

I never argue with someonelse's system when it works for them.

accidental firearm injury is at an all time historic low, despite record ownership of firearms. I teach my kids. But I have a safe too.

Kids and guns can be a very dangerous mix -- you gotta keep the two separated unless you're there in control of the situation. When there's kids around I watch'em like a veritable old hawk and bark at'em like a Doberman. Little wonder they don't like me. I'm no fun at all. But they're all still here with all their parts.

Agreed. If kids and guns were supposed to mix, there'd be all sorts of harmless knobs attached, they would take forever to put together (oops...that IS true already), they would be made of plastic and painted bright colors, and would shoot bubbles instead of bullets.

Know what I mean?

:D:D

Actually, I don't. I've had many many friends raise their children around loaded weapons. (past toddler age) In a home where someone is going to teach there are things which are allowable. That doesn't mean I choose to do it, or you, but it can and is done, and I would bet anything most accidents do not occur in such households but in those with a minimum or no education at all, and not enough supervision.

munk = you are 110% right.

I plan on taking my kids to the range often to educate them in proper firearm usage. Because, they need to learn it from me, and not some careless friend.

I'm not an advocate of "abstinence" from weapons. I am an advocate of education. I just don't want one for myself right now.

" I just don't want one right now. " >>> Pen

That's odd, I feel the same way about guns and khuks. I don't want just one right now.
:D :D :D Well, I guess I could make it on one a week.:footinmou

If a rattlesnake can kill a child, does it make any sense to anyone not to tell a child about rattlesnakes?

.....

Rusty, how much of this stuff do you plan on taking with you?
Good thing I don't live in Nevada...good thing I'm not rich..

I am actually grateful to the HI forum because it forced a showdown on money between my wife and I. When the dust settled, I'd won the right to purchase a firearm now and again, budget permitting. I'd lost that right upon the birth bed of my now two year old, I proudly displayed the S&W .38 target wheelgun I'd picked up from pawn early.
That was a real tactical error... I'm also the guy who forgot our FIRST wedding anniversary, and uh, gee, where was I? At a gunstore.

I'd been doing some heavy lobbying with a new slogan called: "with every birth, I deserve a gun." I'd modified this recently to state: "Khukuri."

The real tragedy is I didn't start this program 13 years ago when we first met. That was a real tactical blunder. I could be 13 guns richer by now.

How in hell the father could convince the mother who actually endures and bears the child that it was he who deserved a gun is....political talent that is much needed in the Senate today. Or er..the problem with the Senate today.
