SOS Orange Knives ?? I have a question .

High Vis Orange is a sensible choice if you run the risk of dropping stuff out of your pockets ... particularly on a folder with a belt clip ... miss the belt or have something like a rucksack belt ride up and knock it off and it is a blessing to walk back and easily be able to find it ... I only have one ... my Spyderco UKPK ...

The other thing in it's favour is that for "sheeple" the orange colour seems to put them at ease that the knife is more "tool" than "weapon" ... handy in a country where there are more "sheeple" than "outdoor people" ...

I would have bought one of these as well in a heart beat ... money permitting ... ideal for a scuba knife for the visability and the Res C grip is really comfortable for all uses ...

The bigger knives I don't see a special need as much when teamed with satin ... you ought to be able to find those no problem ... but if you like the colour then fine ... carrying one on a rucksack for SAR uses and you have a high vis marker for other guys seeing where you are on a search pattern ... but there again the right type of jacket colour would be better ...

Of all the Busse Knives I could team with a SOS Orange handle I would like a satin Basic 7 with an ASM Edge ... ideal Scuba, SAR and general use blade ...

I, for one, love the orange.

I have dropped several knives, and had to find them.

None of my handles are orange, because the stars have never aligned for it.

I have only tan handled infi, and black handled infi. Both can disappear easier than you might think. Shoot, my tan handles can even "disappear" in the couch!

It is not "tactical". It won't blend in in my secret night opps, and allow me to sneak up unobserved on my unwitting prey, but my black opps night missions only involve sandwiches and other snacks that don't fight back, and are no more likely to see that orange handle than a tan or black one.

It's all good Rob . Oppinions are what I asked for . I have neither love nore hate for them . Just wanted to know what others thought .

As it turns out , I just noticed that there is an SOS BOSS Street for sale on the forum here at the moment (NO connection to me) , just sayin .

Anyway , it seems as in most cases oppinions vary as to weather they are for use or for collecting . Now someone correct me if I'm wrong here , but it looks like it has more to do with the model of Knife than the SOS color for collecting . I mean it seems like people would pick up an SOS Battle Mistress to collect , but would be more likely to use an SOS BOSS Street or Active Duty . Yeah ? No ? Maybe another drink would help :very_drunk:

HOLD MY BEER ANDWATCH THIS !

For me and IMHO it's a combination of model and color!!! I am a HUGE fan of the FSH, FBM, MNR and AD blades. They for me are the quintessential Busse Combat's and the only one I might throw into the mix as a middle size knife would be a ASH or TB. As to the color, voilage here can range from so dense that you can walk past a brown bear sleeping and not know it(except for the smell ) to open tundra. Trust me, bright and shinny sometimes is your friend. I have hunted on the tundra and wished many times while out there that I had a object that could be stuck in something or proped against something to mark my position for my hunting Bro's to glass and see where I was and vice versa. When hunting caribou, you don't stand up or get on your knees exposing yourself cause you will send the herd elsewere.
