Sorry if this question has been asked before. The search function wasn't working for me.

Can anyone recommend a good internet dealer for sambar stag handle scales? I'm more concerned about quality than price. E-bay is fine with me, so long as the seller has a good reputation.

Thanks in advance!!

Thanks you guys!!

I did check Texas knife supply -- good prices, but availability is limited.

I'll check those other links.

P.S. I just bought a set from Luca. Thanks again you guys!

Decent Sambar Scales are getting to the point of on-obtaniun. When we do find a set with decent color, that isn't full of spongy pith, it is a time of celebration. That is if it is a size and shape that is right for what we do! Most of what I have seen out there is pitiful!!! About the only company I have seen that has good stag is Banana Bay. And they were getting 95.00 for a nice set at Blade last year. Some times, (as popular as Stag is), I almost wish I make ABS style knives. Round stag good enough for the typical round tang, or hidden tang knife is plentiful ad cheap. I saw hundreds of suitable rounds and carver sets at Blade last year. Not to mention just about any knife show. But I have to do every thing the hard way. You would think I would Learn! Mike

?/ mongolia? , i understand sambar is a tropical deer.. taiwan , nepal, india, and such, hey dont live nin mongolia,, .. maral maybe, but not sambar.........
mongolia has i ban on deer products being exported i seem to recal..... same with those gazel antlers form mongolia that people all use, they are n illegal to hunt in mongolia, as the only way to hunt black tailed gazel is wiht a helicopter.. which isnt hunting....
in russia much deer antler is exported.. mostly from tuva and yakutia and altai regions, it is mostly maral and also much moose.......
both is nto good knife handle material...
.. actualy i have noticed the best antlers are from tropical deer, cold climate deer have not much blood in the horns.. and are not so solid,, .. even though they may have a nice outer crust........
