I've got a nice pile of old window weights (I use them to help steady work benches and what not. Are they made out of wrought iron? I'm pretty sure that most of them where cast around the 1870's.

Window weights are about as low as you can get in the cast iron field.

Thats what I figured. They do a nice job of holding things down and providing a counter weight for a bench shear, so I don't tip over the bench.
