After trading a couple messages with WadeF I had the idea that maybe a regional Club would be good. I once attended a NJKCA meeting and I was thinking to use that as a model. They meet once a month and it is a good time. A great way to meet fellow enthusiasts and see/handle what is out there. All interested contact me and we can try to work out a centralized location for us to meet on a semi-regular basis. At the very least, maybe we can just set up a one time meeting and discuss it. All would be welcome to attend any meetings to be sure, but I was hoping to set up some kind of regional thing so people could get to meetings regularly without traveling more than a couple hours. This is a wide open thing so please feel free to offer suggestions and ideas.

Where abouts in SE PA? That's a very wide encompassing area. I live north of B'more, but travel often on the weekends, all over the place, so something near Philly wouldn't be bad for me. Great idea BTW IMHO.

I was thinking close to Philly as well, I am about a half hour from there; but if more people from say Lancaster or Reading are interested, it would be closer to there. I think we might just have to see who is interested and plot them on a map and pick a spot in the middle, or closest to the greatest concentration of people. Or I could just scout out some places around me, pick the spot and say that is were it is going to be. I would prefer it to be more democratic than that though.

I'm going to Stick this up at the top for now. Lets get some visisbility and responses!

We started the NJKCA two years ago. It's A LOT of fun, sort of like Bladeforums in real life. :) Check out our website to get an idea on the kind of information you might want to start building toward. (Right now we're in the middle of revitalizing the website and thinking about new activities for the club.)

Democracy is fine, but you do need someone to make the decision to start the emailing, contacting anyone known to be in the area or responding to this thread, sharing ideas and listing them as an agenda for your first meeting. (It looks like you just volunteered, Bob! :D)

I hope this falls into place, it really is a workable idea. Once you get maybe twenty names on the list, you'll always be able to get at least half of you together each month.

Gone for three days and not one person interested?
Come on guys, this could be fun, just post or email me. Like Esav said, I volunteered to try and gets this rolling, but I need to know who to roll with.
