The blade, dimensions and shape are great. How about a version with full titanium scales with some texturing and a titanium clip? Additionally, a replaceable steel lock bar insert. That'd be awesome.

I'd pass. I'm sure others would like it but that sounds like it'd be a whole lot more expensive. I'm already iffy on the production version of the Southard and full Ti doesn't add that much for me.

It wouldn't be that much more. After all, the Southard already has Ti on both sides...

I'd get one...

They could make the non locking side a bit thicker and texture it if wanted. Nothing else would need to change. I agree on the clip, but after switching out mine for a ti low rider from STR I'm very satisfied with the knife. I even like brown :D

Yes, slightly thicker titanium on the opposite side to replace the G10 for an even thickness on both sides. Add lock bar steel insert and a titanium clip. Street price of $275-$300 versus $235 for current Southard.

The bland brown G10 is the only thing I strongly dislike on the Southard. I just installed LSCF scale & LBS on my Southard and it looks fabulous. It cost me $115. So, I'd pay an extra $100 for full titanium including clips. Texturing on the titanium would be nice on both sides.

My Full Ti Southard, I love it and would definitely buy a full Ti version if it came out!

I have said it before, I would love an all ti Southard. The thing about the G10 side that bothers me is not the color. It is the way it makes the knife lopsided. If the G10 (or liner) was thinner and matched the thickness of the Ti side, I would probably have a Southard on my "buy" list. As it stands right now, it won't be.

I completely agree. The lack of symmetry between the thickness of both sides is a deal-breaker for me. Really, why the big difference in thicknesses? Why not a thinner G10 scale? As for a full titanium non-lock scale, it would only require thicker titanium to match the lock side. No extra work to mill out and finish an extra scale like they had to with G10.

So, how would you change the specs?
oh i was disappointed because i thought the ti southard was available.

EXACTLY! :applause:

Sal,

Almost forgot.

Can we get a Mini Southard with an exact 3" blade for us in areas where that's the longest we can carry. Pretty please with sugar on top. :)

Heck, if some people want a Southard XL with a 3.75"-4" blade why not...

I'd buy a full titanium one, or one with a different steel like S110v, or a different G10 color, or carbon fiber scales...I guess any variant would get my attention!

That title was a tease!

I think I would go for one if a different super steel was used and a different scale. Just all Ti won't get me to spend those bucks again. Too many Spydies not enough money.
