A full titanium Southard run would be awesome (I'd buy it, and I already have multiple Southards).
I had three issues with the original scales:
1. The brown color
2. The sand paper texture (great grip, a little too great)
3. The asymmetry--it feels fine in use, but looks weird
These things combined to make me judge the book by its cover and miss on the Southard initially. I thought it was too fugly to even consider buying--thank goodness my wife bought me one.
Barry H. did a wonderful job fixing up all three issues for me, after his slimmed down LSCF mod the knife is not only prettier, but close to perfectly symmetrical:
