I'm planning to buy a Bad Monkey but I'm a bit surprised to see that they use 14c28n on instead of the s35vn that's on the Spider Monkey. I have no experience with 14c28n. How does it hold an edge, etc.?

It's not a super expensive steel but I love it. Holds a good edge and is easy to sharpen to crazy sharp. Kershaw uses it a lot and that's where I have experience with it. Not sure how their heart treat is though. Aa

I have it in a few custom knives and 14c28n is a superb steel when done right.

From what I have read some people prefer their Southern grind 14C28N over S30V due to its resistance to chipping, ease of sharpening and corrosion resistance.

Thanks for your responses. I'm actually thinking that I may go with a Spider Monkey instead. The size would probably make it a better EDC option.
