So I got my Badmonkey, but wanted to take it apart and relieve the non-locking-side scale a bit to get my fat thumb into the lock-bar area easier.
I ordered the $10 tool-kit from Southern Grind and proceeded to ignore their FAQ page (I later found it) and then attempted to un-screw the Monkey-side screw (which is just essentially keyed to that tool for decorative purposes and is keyed to the liner). That went about as well as it sounds like it would - tool gouged up the pivot-head a little and now I had a Sad Monkey...
A quick email to Southern Grind asking how much I needed to spend to correct my mistake and Wendy responded back asking for a mailing address and shipped out a new pivot - completely for free.
I'll say that this Bad Monkey is probably one of the only knives I've ever carried with a 4" blade and at under 5oz, it makes for a very easy carry in a knife that size. While I had it open, I cleaned it up and lubed it with some Lucas Assembly lube - it's now absolutely like glass, I can deploy/close it easily with the little bit of relief out of the scale (the liner was already relieved further back from the scale, so it went quite easily), and I can put the scariest edge on it in about 2 mins with ceramic stones and a strop. It's quickly becoming my go-to carry big knife (which I don't have a lot of) over a few of my favorites.
Anywho, I just wanted to give Southern Grind some props for great customer service and for making a pretty nice folder.
