Southpaw gear

I used right hand bolt rifles until around 1985 or so. I cycled them same as many left handed folks. I decided I didn't want to "accommodate" to a right hand rifle any longer and bought a Remington KS Mountain Rifle, an Ultra Light Arms Model 24, and a nice Kimber of Oregon .22. Safeties are easier to manipulate on the correct side. And something about having the action port away from my face and eyes should a case or primer fail is a bit more assuring. I don't hunt big game any longer so have pared down to an Ultra Light Arms Model 20 rimfire.

My first nice 1911 was an Armand Swenson custom Colt's 70's series with his ambidextrous safety. He built a nice pistol. The magazine release has never been an issue with me, feels natural.

I'm a lefty also. I haven't had much of a problem with either guns or knives in terms of ambidextrousity, except for the pocket clips mounted right-side only. I find that I can take a right-side tip-down knife and stick it in my left pocket, then flip it into a point-down (icepick grip) pretty easily.

We need one of Ned Flanders' stores, The Leftorium, to sell knives and such.

I've wanted one of these since the first time I saw one:

Not that I have any good need for one, but it's LEFT HANDED! Wooo-hooo

How nice would it be to have the brass eject away from, rather than across, my face?

I'm a left hander too, but there's a few things I do right handed. For example, any sports involving a bat or stick (cricket, baseball, hockey, golf etc.) I do right handed, except for tennis which I do left handed. I eat with a knife and fork right handed ie. fork in left, knife in right, but if I'm just using a knife (or machete) I do it left handed. Using a hatchet I hold it left handed, but a full size axe I use right handed. I kick and throw a ball left footed/handed, write left handed, I box left handed but my grappling tendency is right handed.

Anyway, my major complaint is about knife sheaths, which should always be available in left hand versions.

When it comes to sports, most of us are doing it backwards.
When swinging a bat, golf club, axe etc. the hand on the bottom is the one doing the work, pulling the club. The upper hand is just there as a guide to keep it on line.
That is why golfers, left handed ones like Jack Nicklaus and one right handed one, Phil Mickelson, do very well.
I was taught this by a pro baseball player when I was a kid.

Anyway, great responses, it's nice to know there are a lot of lefties out here doing the same things I do.
Now when will we here from the manufacturers saying they will design their clips for us? Sheaths? Will we ever see bags with designs that don't have us turning them aroud before we can open them.
