Hey everyone!

This is not a Southwest Boot Dagger, rather it is a Southwest and a Boot dagger. :D I made these two recently and I wanted to post them up for you all to see.

The first one has a 10 inch W-2 blade with hamon. The handle is Koa (one of my new favorite woods). The fittings are all stainless steel featuring my first ever engraving. It took me a lot of time to do the engraving but it was very enjoyable and I will be doing much more in the future. The engraving is based off a classic border engraving with a bit of a change to the leaves so they would look a bit different from the traditional. There is engraving on the borders, on the front, back, top and bottom of the guard and on the end of the pommel and nut. I'll let the pictures do the talking from here. Thanks to my brother, Caleb for the awesome photos! :)

This is a little boot dagger with a 5 3/4 inch blade made of Feather Pattern Damascus. The blade has a very deep hollow grind. The handle is blackwood with an Argentium Silver, domed pin and German Silver, file-worked spacers. Overall length is 9 3/4 inches. The sheath has a Diamondback Rattlesnake skin overlay and tooling. Let me know what you think and thanks so much for looking.

I went to engraving school back in June with Steve Dunn as my teacher. Steve is really good at teaching and making concepts easy to understand. I highly recommend Steve if anyone is looking to go to an engraving class. :D

Truly outstanding execution Kyle. Your engraving is the perfect addition to the piece and to your skill-set.
Excellent photos too.
Congrats,
David

Good looking knives, Kyle. Marvelous hamon on the Southwest, with a fine handle. It's great to see your engraving showing up here.

That's some blade on the Boot. Super control on the center line and grind.

Caleb's photos are superb, and really show your work to advantage.

A great pair, both knives and brothers!

John

P.S. Looking forward to seeing you both in Little Rock

I am a dagger fan, but usually not a boot dagger fan.......this one is smoking

Great proportions and I love the way the grind works with the Damascus pattern.

The Southwest Bowie is sweet too, and I am also a BIG Koa fan - beautiful piece and great pictures too :D

Hi Mr Royer,
they are both outstanding knives, the handle on the southwest is stunning and your brother has done an exceptional job of capturing it. A1 on the engraving also.thanks for posting . Inspirational
cheers

Everything is excellent blades, engraving, wood, design, sheath and pictures!

The Southwest Bowie is so fine. The hamon, the overall profile, the handle, all beautiful.
That's solid engraving as well. I have always liked the running wheat pattern.:thumbup::thumbup:

The Boot Knife is so elegant. As John mentioned, the feather pattern and center/grind are so well executed.
That sheath is very nice as well.:thumbup::thumbup:

Caleb's images are works of art on their own.

Very nice work. I don't knows which one I like better, to close to call. The engraving is outstanding, do you just engrave your knives or do you work on other knives.

Both are great knives, Kyle...but that dagger really talks to me. Caleb did great on the pics as usual.

Always a joy to see your work, Kyle. Exceptional pieces. Love the way the grind and the feather work together on the dagger.

I really like the dagger!! .. but someone is gonna need a biig fancy boot for that and it looks like the sheath is set up for a belt carry.

Kyle, those are great. The bowie is outstanding and the engraving really sets it off. Really nice hamon also. I saw the boot dagger picture on FB and loved it. Very classy and great damascus control. Really nice work. I look forward to seeing what you will have in Little Rock.
