Nasty. 50 miles? The gathering is 50 miles north of cincy. If I do get there don't worry about dropping by for a beer. I'm not too sure how a big knife nut and little car nuts will get along.

That puts you in my back yard (watch out for the pond and goose crap).

As for getting along with little car nuts, I could bring along members of my Chevy Avalanche club. I think we could stand up to just about any build-em, lite-em, race-em or stereo competition ya'll might be able to offer.

As a side benefit, if one of yours breaks down, we can always load it in the back of one of ours to get ya home... :D

nasty- I've got three little chilluns who must come wherever I go, and one not out of diapers. But it does look like I can go to OK. alone in June. MY wife's brothers are coming to visit and I'm leaving!!!!

Too bad- I love the Sonoran Desert.

It's real hard to imagine travling two days down with all day driving, with a two year old.

Understood munk...now the *other* road trip...let me know when itgets locked. It'd be worth the drive. :D

I'm not going to like missing it. My parents live down that away but it's not in the cards.

IN two more years, when baby is toilet trained and can take 12 hours in a truck...he he heee.

Pics guys! Post pix! Way to far for me but I'd love to see it. I have said this before but one of the great things I discovered by going to the Khonvention that our friend Nasty (who is anything but really) hosted was that everyone was as nice or even nicer in real life!!!! :D

You know, I hope Uncle Bill is proud not only of his efforts at economic development in Nepal, but that his efforts have resulted in a lot of us meeting up in real life and sharing Khukuri Khommunion ;)

Bill *has* brought together a lot of good people as friends that wouldn't have met otherwise...

I'm looking forward to it. I'll bring sharpening stuff and some care & feeding products that aren't readily discussed in the Cantina. I'll also bring some show & tell -- custom scabbards, etc., and maybe some trade goods. If anyone want's to see a particular HI khuk on you wish list, let me know, and if it's in my inventory, I'll pack it along. Sounds like a good time! :D

I'll be sure and bring the As Forged Chainpuri Blade that I took artistic license with so Gin and everyone else can see the khuk she is holding in her avatar.
I may have to have the headlights readjusted in the Camry if I bring a shltload of khuks like I did one year in the Dodge.
Lots of people asked me for dims that year.:D ;)
What was funny was the year we flew out and watching the faces of the porters when they grabbed a suitcase and it didn't budge like they thought it would.:D

OK This will be great. Anyone else have any requests for something you want to do? I'm in it for the sharpening, which I have no idea how to do. I've read, but I'm a definite hands on learner, so will enjoy it much.

yep this get togeather will be great--and i want to learn more about convex sharpening--got all the stuff i need and am trying on my own but will be great to have someone who knows more to show me the tricks of the trade  :)

forgot to add if any of us have any tradin stuff be sure and bring it along--maybe we'll go home with a special kurk--you'll all see i'm a tradin fool--lol  :)

Well, I just recieved in the mail a video of the Making of a Khukuri and the Spirit of the Puuko, compliments of Hoghead. So Maybe we can watch these if those coming would be interested. Watching the men actually making the khuks is very interesting. Of course you have to be able to read. It has subtitles. But I like watching it anyway :D The Spirit of the Puuko has the most beautiful scenery in it......like the kind we don't have down here. And it's fun watching them make one of those too. And seeing what the national pasttime in Finland is

Anyway if anyone else is interested in coming, let me know.
