On my trip back home from the MKA Show I spotted an outside flea market so I decided to take a look around. I spotted a bunch of old farm equipment and among that junk was this full rack of buggy springs. These springs followed me home. I forged this little bowie out of a piece of one of the springs. The blade is 9 3/4" and 15" overall. The guard was forged from a piece of buggy wheel. I also picked up a good supply of local stag. Believe the crown I used on this knife is mule deer.

I saw the spring then nearly choked when I saw the blade! Nice work, as always Mr Richard:D.

WOW !! Thats a beauty Ray  perfect in every way. I really love the shape of the blade on this one. Excellent work

It's amazing what can be done with someone elses "junk". That is beautiful. Being able to recycle old parts into useful art is one of the greatest skills in knifemaking. I hope someday I can come close to doing something like that.

Great find Raymond and that is one beauty of a knife. How do you heat treat the buggy springs I have a couple of stacks I have been saving for a few years and I am not sure what to heat treat them like.
