This is the exact axe from the Werner Herzog documentary “Happy People.” I bought it from some dude in Belarus who had these. It is stamped 1957. I don’t want to admit how much time I spent figuring out and locating this exact axe cause of that damn Werner Herzog movie.
It came loose. I hammered in the little metal wedge and then I cut some trees in my yard and it is loose again. I have other axes that I use over this one so I’m posting this for sale. Ash handle I believe. It is very cool. Happy people!!!
See pics below to show condition (barely used, long stored) and a video to show the wobble. This axe is for someone who wants to be like a Soviet trapper in Siberia AND is comfortable fitting an axe head that’s loose. Also I bought a cheapo sheath for this axe as pictured.
