Sowbelly Stockman

I think it's a great knife.
That being said, it wasn't for me.
The excessive curves of the knife made it feel chunky in-hand.

I discovered it by chance and fell in love.

It's a little heavy, but a really well made and beautiful design. You know when you are holding it that you have a heavy duty tool in your hand.

I just ordered a couple of inexpensive models to try them out: a rough ryder micarta sowbelly stockman and a winchester checkered bone sowbelly (not a stockman, as it has three larger blades). I'm excited to see what they are like in hand, and to try two brands I've not tried before.

The only Sowbelly that I have is a Case with a single blade, I really like it and it is very comfortable in the hand. I’m a fan of knives with one blade, but that’s just me.

I too am a fan of one bladed knives. A big fan actually. Just this weekend I bought two identical sowbellies, I love that red delrin with the patriotic shield.

Nice one, Gev!
Isn't that shield usually installed in the opposite orientation?o_O

This Case XX Classic is very slim in the pocket. GEC is well overdue for this pattern.

That is a captivating knife, Tim!

I like Sowbelly knives. At first, I was simply attracted to the aesthetics of its curves and such but the knife in hand is quite a wonder. I only have a few but they are terrific users. I've been hunting for a Black Box Winchester and a decent Case with Bone covers in CV for awhile now but I'm very pleased with the ones I do have.
