Spa’d CRKs and how to know?

And it doesn't hurt to make sure the slabs are the original ones for the knife. Approximate date on the slabs with the build date.
Gotta move laundry to dryer... I'll let you all think on that for a bit.

I'm back. Found the 21 I used on Sunday in the washer, so I oiled it real quick.
I have large regular from 2021 I believe. Right when CRK was switching to s30v I sent in my Sebby in for a SPA. For some reason they changed out my BG42 blade for the new s30v.
It held an 'ok' edge, but nowhere near the BG 42. I found out with a call about the switch.
I sent the knife in and was told because they modified the original slabs to fit the s30v , they had to replace the slabs.
So yes, it doesn't hurt to double check.

You must have put the wrong date for the regular 2021 is no where near BG-42 or regular
Guessing 2001
But I would have asked why they changed the blade. And I would hope for a darn good excuse
Did they return the old blade? Guessing no.

Yup! It was 2001 . They were trying to integrate s30v as much as possible at the time. And no, they didn't think to ask. But they immediately said they would change it back, so I saw no reason to Squawk . No I didn't get the s30v blade and really didn't have a need for it either.

Buy the seller mainly and due diligence.

Obvious things are chronological order of blade materials and parts such as sleeves and screws or thumb studs. Wood types are a good indication as well.
