Spa treatment.

Ohhhh. That's probably not what they're referring to. You should try calling and asking about that pattern. They'll be super helpful. Don't bother emailing though.

They are very helpful the times I've called, I'll make sure to give them a call tomorrow. Thanks for your help 👍

No worries. I'm twiddling my thumbs while they work on my startac umnum. Be warned their lead time is 8-10 weeks on spa treatments right now.

Gah!!! I was hoping that wasn't true. All these folks saying 2-3 weeks are either hyperbolizing or damn lucky. Good thing the Umnum I got about a month ago was only slightly used so if I do send this one in I won't be stir crazy. What'd you send yours in for?

Don't see the why of sending it in-You should see what my 14+ YO Sebby looks like:D

Haha I can imagine it has some stories. That's a stock picture up there. The one I acquired has some a large number of snail trails and I'd like to send it in as this would be my first time doing so any way

Let's just say I had a washer mis aligned and I bent the bejeezus out of it on re assembly. Don't ask how I managed that but I did. So my only option was to ship it in for a spa day and new washers. Oh well.

From looking at the price list, it would cost $60 dollars for CRK to re-tumble the blade and to re-blast the handle. A sharpening, cleaning, and tuning are free. $15 dollars for return shipping. Around $25 dollars to ship it in fully insured. So it looks like the total for a spa treatment will run around $100 dollars with up to a 4 week or longer wait time.

Does this seem right, or is this new pricing for 2014? I've never sent a CRK in for the spa treatment before, but I was under the impression that the above would be around $35 dollars plus shipping there and back, bringing the total to around $65 max.

If someone could clarify this for me as well that'd be pretty great 👍

Don't mean to scare you guys but my small 21 has been there since the first of August. 😞 needless to say I'm gettin lonesome. They told me two weeks ago it would be done within that next week but so far no call....

Thanks for the reply man, yup I'm thinking very hard about sending it in.

Since August?! That's insane!

Yes but I will tell you I commissioned double lugs too so that may be part of it...

I figured it was more than a simple spa treatment but still even something like double studs, I don't think, would justify waiting since August

Just got off the phone with Heather over at CRK. Sandblast is only free of charge for Plain Regular Sebenzas. $30 charge for any Sebenza with a design

At the minimum, a spa treatment will cost you around $30. They get $15 to ship it back to you and you're going to spend around that to ship it to them unless you prefer to be a cheapskate.

Best time to send one in is the day you receive a new one. That way, you are still enjoying your new CRK while the other is gone forever, and when it returns it seems like you got another brand-new knife.

Otherwise, it is like watching paint dry. The minutes turn into hours, the hours, days...you get the picture.

Best thing is, again, that when it does return, you get that new-knife feeling once again.

Priceless!

I agree 100%

I'm right at 8 weeks on my old style pivot umnumzaan. Can't wait to get her back!
