Spa Turn-Around Time Update

Just got these two from spa treatment. They received it March 2, received them today. The large regular have double silver thumb lugs now.

Just sent my CF small sebenza off for a spa, double lugs and also the blade was not centered.
They received it today.
I was wondering what would cause the CF scale to make the blade off center.
I got it of ebay last week. It was so off the the blade rubbed the CF.

Hope it wasn't a fake. Tons of them on the evilbay lately.
 
Sent in my small 21, going to be fluffed and buffed and address a small issue. Actually asking them to make the lockup later if you can believe that. The wait will be tough not having another to carry in the mean time. Heard nothing but great things about their ability to make a user like new again. I appreciate the courtesy email letting you know your knife made it safe and sound. Counting the days now...
 
I don't want to scare you guys but I thought I'd tell my experience with the spa turnaround time. I sent in a small plain 21 for spa and double lugs on June 26 2014. I didn't get it back till the first week in January of this year.... I was getting worried. I called 2-3 times and the last 2 times I called they said it was ready to ship, but it still was a month before I got it. I hear so many reports of short turnaround that I believe this is an extreme exception, and I sent my large Reg off for a sticky lock issue on 3-26-15 hoping for better luck this time.
 
Oh wow! That's the kind of horror story that worries me. That long without my knife would freak me out. I guess I won't send any of mine in unless absolutely necessary. Sorry that happened to you.

I'd like to think it was a rare occurrence as well, did they tell you why it took so long? I figure give them their space, no doubt they are working diligently and want to return only the best product when finished. Give them the 8 weeks and if at 8 weeks they can confirm its been finished or repaired I'd be their friendliest but possibly most loathed customer by calling regularly until I got some sort of shipping confirmation.
 
Unless there are some special services you are requesting (such as refinishing the handle surfaces or adding new blade or someting), regular spa service shouldn't take longer than 4-6 weeks. There are certain times of the year when that can take a little longer, such as around Blade and Shot shows, but that's the average. I still call to check in after about 4 weeks just to make sure my order isn't lost in the pile, so to speak. I don't think they mind as long as you're not being a total pest about it.

Took no more than 2.5 weeks from the time it shipped out from my home until it returned home.
Work done. Blade was off center severely, added double silver lugs, replaced hardware and washers.
They emailed me when it arrived and called for shipment confirmation and payment.
Came back like new. Very very pleased.

Would have pics but it's not working....
 
For curiosity, what on your 25 needed tuned up?

there was a hairline fracture coming from the thumbstud on the blade, so they replaced it with a new blade. I guess they had a run of thumbstuds that were a bit out of spec. Can't imagine it was from use since I never even used it lol. at least I got all the blue anodizing back, now im never going to even touch it our of fear of it wearing haha.

Were they able to fix the blade centering? What was the cause? Congratulations on that CF Basket Weave Small 21...
 
Yes it's perfect!! Never did say what caused it. Thanks for the congrats!

That was exceptional service in my book. I'm on week 4 here, hoping I'll get a call next week sometime. The first week was the hardest.
 
Received my small back today, absolutely superlative service. This particular knife was well used and had a warranty issue but came back in practically new condition. Little over 5 weeks, not bad during prep for Blade show. What a shining example of American quality and exceptional customer service.
