Space blanket for Solar oven?

Can a space blanket be used to make a solar oven? I have made them with aluminum foil, but would it get hot enough to melt a space blanket? How heat resistant is milar(not sure if spelled correctly)? Anyone know?

Not advisable its plastic and melts.

That is what I was thinking too.

You should be able to use the mylar for a solar funnel. Unlike a box oven the funnel does not heat the reflector itself. The energy is focused on the container.
