Space Monkey Knives

Impressive. I am a traditional folder user, but I could be persuaded to carry one of these beauties.

Hey. Just came upon your post. Beautiful work on these, What blade steels are you working with. Really dig that orange one with the harpoon/tanto type blade. Let me know when you open your books back up.

Very impressive. What's the story on your Space Monkey name?
Monkeys are cool...
Hi Dave,

I'm a big fan of space exploration, have been since I was a kid. My wife and I have called our daughter "monkey" since the day she was born. I know, it is a common nick-name for kids but it really did stick. She is 11 now. So anyway, when I was trying to come up with a name I wanted something familiar, silly, and meaningful. I put the two together and it just kind of worked. The angry looking monkey in the logo is there because I still wanted to be able to make an edgy tactical knife that can get the job done.

Any chance you're a fan of Jens Anso? I see some design choices that instantly reminded me of what he's done. I, personally, am very impressed and there are some great grinds shown, along with really nice contrasting material choices. Great job sir!
Absolutely. I found him out about Jens work through Spyderco which I am still a huge fan of.

I've done a poor job of updating my own thread. Getting these photos hosted so that I can share them here on the forum is a pain, plus the images look so compressed. At any rate, here are my latest knives I've made this year. It is my new model I call the Propulsion. Front flipper with thumb disc.

Thanks for looking!
