I went nuts at an exotic wood store today, & got ahold of some spalted maple burl & another piece of birdseye maple. I intend to stabilize both, but remember hearing an old trick to bring out the beauty of the grain using iron filings, an acid, and the flame of a torch gently played over the wood. This I assume must be done before stabilizing. Anyone have the exact recipie for this?
Thanks,
