looks interesting....nice in fact....what did you use? linen, canvas? Is it made from wadded up pieces of material compressed in an epoxy matrix? If it holds up as well as regular micarta, I think you have a real winner there.

Butch, is there any trick to make it look like it would as a finished handle (spray a little water on it or anything?) It definitely looks interesting. Not familiar with spalted wood to comment on if it's authentic looking or not though.

Man Butch, you're just using up some epoxy aren't you? :)

Looks good. Let's see a piece buffed out.

I think you should put that on one of your knives and send it to me. It's really hard to tell from here...knowwhutImean? :)

I like the "Spalted Butchcarta"

Butch, every batch is cooler than the last. You're sorta singlehandedly resetting the bar of laminated handle materials. Two thumbs up!!

thanks guys and i ll see what i can do aobut making it wet to see how it looks bettter i ll update later tonight

Butch, will you release your secret epoxy to us?

Do you pull the epoxy through after applying a vaccum, or put all the fabric in a bucket of the epoxy and mash to saturate?

I heard a rumor that he had some Italian chicks stomp it and moosh it in a big wooden barrel....I think that's what I heard.

Hurry and put that on a knife. That is awesome!

How thick are those pieces? They almost look fat enough for a hidden tang handle.

That would be interesting, since every micarta knife I've seen has had panels.

Vary nice as usual. They keep getting more interesting with every new batch.

BBcarta nice looking blocks. You need to let us in on what's it made of
The right color combo's and you got camocarta

I'm really diggin' that stuff.
Can you make an imitation spalted "wood"?
Colored sort of brown/tan/black/etc?

thats what i was tring to go for
got to use more tan in the mix next time

the girls have to be naked so the air bubbles squish out

the epoxy im not telling :D

this batch was bondo fiberglass but you get just 12 min to get it all set up and pressed

still lookin for something better but this is hard and fast
