Spalted wood scale help

I didn't do any fancy tests. I made a couple kitchen knives and used the sample for one. It sanded well and polished good. I have to admit that it was a lot better than the Cactus Juice pieces I had used years ago. I am told it has been improved.

That said, I could tell the difference between the two stabilizing methods. The K&G wood seems harder, and shines a bit brighter.
