A lock on a door really isn't very secure, just kick the door hard enough and you'll be in. But, you'll also be guilty of criminal breaking and entering. Circumventing the lock is easy, but you can go to jail for it. So, the physically-weak lock is made practically-strong by a law.
Internet security is often similarly practically-weak. There are easy ways to circumvent it. But, where it is present, it is usually backed up by rules and policies. Employeers who use content blocking technologies usually back them up with a policy that says something like, "Any attempt to circumvent network security measures is punishable by disciplinary action up to and including termination." In other words, you could loose your job. Schools often have policies that allow for the expulsion of students who circumvent computer/network security measures.
So, think twice before you kick down that cyber door.
