Even if it's not your knife for sale you're still advertising a knife for sale, and advertising is not allowed in the discussion forums.

They've had them at this price for a while. Somebody else posted about it a while back, but it was deleted as spam. I'm sure this one will be too.

This is not Spam this is of interest to the Survival Forum. I do not work for Amazon.

Just be careful not to order from Ira Woods through Amazon. I odrered 4 alox farmers a week and a half ago. To date they billed my card and have not shipped yet. I just would not want to see anyone on the forum in the same position I am in.

billym,

About a month ago, I posted the same "spam" (or at least the moderator saw it that way.) I think the problem is that the owner of this board also owns an internet knife store. "Bargain spotting" is probably forbidden because it's disrespectful to the owner of this board. (I'm just speculating.) Anyway, for my infraction of the rules, I received an...uhmm...an "infraction" that's going to remain on my record for a year. Maybe if you turn yourself in, and ask a moderator to remove your post, perhaps they'll go easier on ya.

Does not sound like a free market economy to me.

Billy, welcome to the real world where things like "free market economy" don't exist anyway. Everyone that supports all the stuff coming from china loves to call that "free market" as well - it is! The truth is, "free market" oftentimes means exploitation. Well, laws were put in place and unions were formed so exploitation was lessened here. Eventually, due to "costs," they went overseas.

China has slave labor.

Don't buy anything that has Made in China on it unless you absolutely have to. I know my Motorola has it on it, I hate that, but what am I going to do?

Just a little lesson. :D

Many of us have some dealers or manufacturers that we
like, but we would certainly try others.

I looked for a link to supporters and advertisers, but did
not find any. Why not put a link to supporters that is a
little more obvious?

I know some forums on the internet take the advertising
to a fault; their advertising is so big with pictures that the
page is very slow loading.

For example, a big picture (jpg, gif) of "ACME KNIVES" takes a
lot more bandwidth than text of "ACME KNIVES", which could
look very similar.

I can't speak for everyone but as a whole, most do not want links to different dealers posted all over the forum.

The good, bad, and ugly is a great place to find info on dealers with good reputations posted by the person that purchased from them. Thats why its there.

As to who supports the forum, the owner (from my understanding) has an out of pocket expense that is probably larger that any of us realize. Members are the other main source of money. $25.00 a year for me is a very good deal to sell, buy, trade, and share/gain info I find interesting.

I was thinking of ONE link (on each page of this forum) to ONE page.
That page would consist of a list of links or small advertisement-links.
The list would be in order of amount contributed and/or volunteer status
(moderator, web page builder).

I fully understand, if this would be too much trouble or would start a
pi$$ing contest for placement in the list.

OR, that one page would be exclusively for the owner who pays big bucks
for this forum. A a quick-loading advertisement would be best.
I know some HTML; people with less knowledge than me could do this,
if you KIS.
