For people who have used or handled both types of grinds, which one would you prefer in your EDC rotation if you could chose just one?

Personally, I think it depends on your needs. The spanto retains a thicker blade nearly all the way to the tip. The slicer is really the other end of the spectrum, it is probably one of the thinner grinds Hinderer offers. So, if you needs more slicing ability, go slicer. You need to occasionally pry or treat your EDC a bit rougher, go spanto. Either way, both are great choices, either will take a lot of abuse and both will cut probably 99% of the stuff you want to cut. You will likely enjoy either one.

Does anyone have a picture of the spine profile from above on the slicer model? A pic next to a spanto would be awesome, but a pic of just the slicer spine would be really helpful as well. I was debating slicer vs spanto for my next XM18 and this would definitely help me decide.

not mine but it is a slicer:

i like the spanto better, that said the slicer is plenty thick but i would assume it to have less drag

i think i would opt for the slicer too.

for my uses, i think the spanto would be too thick for my EDC use.
