How many folks here carry flashlights? i'd say quite a few as most people consider them an essential bit of kit for their survival kits. however, alot of us dont consider how we carry the spare batteries for our flashlights, especially if they're small cr123 batteries which are used in alot of specialized flashlights such as fenix or surefires. :)

many of us edc flashlights on a daily basis but having loose batteries in our pockets is sometimes a pain. :p

where exactly am i going with this? :o

introducing, the new cr123 spare batt carriers from on scene tactical.

This spare batt carrier is made from concealex i believe and the thing is tough as iron. adding the batteries is a snap, literally. just place the battery near the opening and push it in and "snap" the battery secures into place.

you can carry two spare batteries on this model and as you can see it makes for a very nice and slim package in your pocket.

compaired to the conventional surefire spare batt carrier it is a way slimmer package.

just thought i'd share this with all the folks here. especially those who are looking for a new and innovative way to carry their spare batts.

Nice kit, jca. Thanks for sharing.

I find, for me, the best way of carrying spare batteries is in a spare flashlight.

thats definetly a good way to carry em doc :)

cant afford another surefire yet :P just wait until jay gets em in i'll be rushin over there to pick up another.

thanks for the comments.

edit:

i'd also like to add that this thing would make a great koga or fist filler. also if it was a little longer it could serve as a slapper without the leather and lead ball :)

I usually carry some spares in a SureFire SC2 but you're right, that thing is slim. Looks good.

my spares were in an sc3 but i'd always have to put it in a pack or something as it was uncomfortable in my pockets. even in my cargo pockets they'd bang around.

Hey Guys...
Jun..

Thank you very much.. I appreciate that...
I had the same problem with Cells floating around in my pockets and such and then came up with these...

Doc..

The problem with carrying spares in a digital flashlight, is that even though they are not on,, there is a constant slow drain due to the circuitry ...Eventually they'll kill the cells even just sitting in your pack...

Here's a couple of more pictures of them...

Hey Eric, depends on the flashlight. Perhaps an extreme example, but a Mini Mag with Nite Ize conversion. When turned off, there is no circuit, at least I think not.

Hey Doc...

Yaa in a mini mag with a conversion,, no it would be fine... A torch that has a Drive Circuit as most high output LEDS have it would...

Thanks

neat carriers Normark, and props to JCA21 for posting photos!

I gotta say though I LOVE my SF Spares carriers though :D they look like little UFO's :D and they are waterproof (O ring) the way i hike, things get wet a lot. (i like floating across creeks)

That being said,......... an OST battery carrier on a belt for city walks/EDC is a might cool thing....

PS: has my MO arrived?) PM me

I use this holder to carry extra lithium AA's for my Fenix L2D Q5.
I must admit they come in very handy.

That is only true in some flashlights. In many digital flashlights there is no connection when the switch is turned off and hence no current draw at all.

Nice carriers btw.

I prefer waterproof ones:

I can be slovenly. I just need to keep them where I can find them and stop them rattling. I poke them in whatever sets I need up a bit of slit closed cell foam mat. I thought it would just rip, but the one depicted below is a couple of years old and in pretty much constant use, and it's as snug as it started. I figure the reason it hasn't degraded is that I cut it from a proper pressure blown foam mat and not that chemically blown stuff. Works well for AA or smaller. 2 mins to make, so very disposable, yet lasts ages. Yeah, sometimes I appreciate slovenly.

Waterproofness is nice for extreme conditions, but for every day carry, the slim tube ones look great. The SC2 is kind've annoying in my small daily bag. I will have to pick up a couple of these.

right on Eric... those look great man.. i wouldn't mind picking up a few one of these days...

long time no see.... i hope all is well with you folks....:)

Eric - that is the scariest looking bayonet I've ever saw :eek::eek:

Great idea. I've gotta a few knives that I need to get to you for sheathing!

Thats what I use, or I also have a little case with foam that holds 6.

Those OST ones are cool though!!

Hey Guys...

Those are some good looking holders.. The tube vault has a million and one uses...

Ken..

LOL,, That's just a standard M7 bayonet...
And Jun is right,, every bayonet should have a shotgun on it..

Let me know about the knives,, Anytime...

Thanks for the Great comments Guys..
