Spare Tire Hammer

This hammer was designed after the Little Giant and is fairly common in my area with the local smiths. Does anyone here have opinions on the use and reliability of these?

Gerry, If I was wanting a mechanical hammer I'd have one of these. I've watched a couple of them that Clay Spencer built being used in demonstrations and IMO, they are more controllable and more reliable than a L.G.

Some of these tire hammers are good and others aren't so good.

I've been around power hammers almost 20 years and would much rather have a Little Giant. If someone says a LG isn't controllable and reliable they were using a hammer that needed rebuilt and or tuned up.

I love mine and it has lots of control. I have the first one ever made about 8 yrs ago. I could not do without it now. It has hammered out hundreds of tomahawks.
