Haven't yet used to start a fire the Spark-Lite kit (striker + 8 tinder chunks) I got from Brigade Quartermaster a while back for $7. FWIW I did try the sparker and it threw sparks just fine. There is some info on the Spark-Lite, plus some other sparkers, over on Equipped.com's one-handed firestarter page.
