Catchy thread title is it not? Now that I have your attention audience, I wanted to thank Spark for all he does in the background on Blade Forums. I personally do not know why more folks do not upgrade their forum experience and help support the site.

I love BF and have learned much about customs and knives in general being here. The searching abilities are great. So if you are just a registered user, surely you can afford a paying membership. Why wait? Do it now! I know that it is expensive when he is running it ad free. I hate all the ads and banners of other sites and rarely visit them, just because of them.

BF is the place to hang out! A great community and lots of friendly folks. Now if just registered users will help out.
Just my opinion,
Thanks Again Spark for a great site.

I am with you 100% my friend!

It is my pleasure to help support this site.

I would like to hear why some registered users are unable to support the site or why they chose not too. I have just lost my business of 23 years and living on SS. Or Social Insecurity as it should be called and even I managed to find enough money to send in.

+1:thumbup: Best 50bucks I ever spent!:) If there was a "higher" membership,I'd get it.;)

James, bladeforums has never been a site where we browbeat, shame or place pressure on folks whether they contribute or not. Each person makes up his own mind and makes a decision based upon his own particular set of circumstances.

You have made your own decisions on who (and how) you support both on and off these forums and nobody that I am aware of has pressured you in that regard.

I think it only fair to allow the same latitude to all other members. The last thing we need is for members of any level to feel uncomfortable participating because somehow they feel they are being judged.

I will eventually be able to save up and pay for the account i use here. I find myself on this forum more than anything else i do on the internet and wish i could afford it now.

In the meantime i make sure to spread the name of the site to others and make sure to always speak about it with fellow enthusiast. :)

Keep spreading the word and good to have you aboard. I hope I did not make you feel judged by asking those that could to support BF. If I offended you or anyone else. Please accept my humble apologies. I was once a registered user for a year or so myself.

i dont think there is anything wrong with what james said. a lot of registered members belong to the forum and have for many years. where else can they join up for $10. a year and talk knives or whatever interests them? i read posts from quite a few non paying members that complain about not being able to search or other things that paying members have or do yet they dont support the site. i for one am paid up several years in advance. spark has a great site and i think non paying members should give a little something for being here at least once. even a small donation is better than nothing to help keep things running.

Thanks Mike,

I guess that is why I love the forums as much as I do, it keeps my mind off all the other legal stuff I am enduring right now.

Thanks for the understanding,
Jim

Whoa friend, gimme a break! I usually donate discussion servers a bit later after I join them, say after a few months  BF is not the only forum I am registered in, and I also need to pay for my rent, food, and knives ;)

I definitely agree with the bolded sentence and am thankful for this awesome pile of information and pics - just let me catch my breath, and I'll scratch a few bucks somewhere after a while :o

Hey, Welcome and when able join on up. This was NOT a put down, just bragging on the site and asking folks to help out. No need to be embarrassed as that was not the intent of original post. I was a registered user myself for a while. Meanwhile enjoy the stay, I think you will find this the best knife forum on the net and you will definitely enjoy all the information.

Its gotten to the point that I’ll choose surfing BFC over going to a strip club. Its that good.

And I agree about the upgrade issue. People drop $50 on knives every other week. Why not do the same here? Far more then simply supporting the site, there are so many cool things about an upgraded membership.

Thank you Spark, and thank you mods for making the site such an awesome place to hang out!

Depends, you might be able to use your ATM card as a visa card. I do, other than mailing them a money order, I do not know. Perhaps a knowledgeable Mod or Spark can help.

Hope you do get some help here.

Now that's just sick! You need professional counseling.:D:D:D

I agree with the attitude of Spark and the Mods (Blues). Sooner or later most folks realize how import this site is to them personally and when they are able, they join up at some paying level. There are a couple of glaring exceptions but I won't go there with my black shoes on.

I joined and have renewed at the Platinum level and if there was anything taller I'd be on that step. I have had so much personal gain from exposure here on this site that for me personally it is almost an honor thing to give back and support with $$$.

Muchas gracias, Spark, Blues, Bastid and the rest of the Mods.

Paul

I think if you rarely use the site, okay. Don't pay. I can understand that. You're probably not reading this anyway.

I also think if you're a student, even $10 is a chunk of change that could go to buy food or beer. I get that. When I was in college, $10 was a serious amount of cash to have on hand!

But the guys that get me are the ones who have thousands of posts and registered back in 2004. They're basically getting a free ride, in my book, and oughta pony up. Again, if you *were* a paying member years ago, and times are really bad now, okay--but if you're still posting three or four times a day, you really need to think about chipping in.

Spark is cool: he never asks. But I can. And do: please think seriously about helping out here.
