Spartan Akribis FOLDER

Expected release was August, that means it should be available soon. Did you see the price though? Ouch... I hope that's MSRP and that the market price will be a little better. Looks nasty nonetheless.

I got to play with it at Blade. The Spartan guys are good fellas, I've known them for a few years now, and I have the Nyx, which, is an awesome blade.

I like the folder pretty well, its gonna be solid, with some good material.

it looks to me like a updated sebby, could just be me :P i want one but like always have to find a place that wont rob me to ship it to canada :P

What kind of lock style is it? I'm trying to figure out if it is ambidextrous.

Liner lock, but basically, the best way I can explain it, is covered frame lock. Smooth action, and solid lock up on the one I played with.

Ah thanks, but oh well. Looks like I'll have to pass unless they make a left handed version. Nice looking knife though.

It looks great. Hopefully Jdavis will be one of the first people to get his hands on one.

Oh wow. I think I'm in love. Hopefully the street price will be a little less than the $490 I'm seeing on the web but if not, oh well. Still might end up with one.

Surprised that these still arent out yet. Off topic but I know Bladehq was expecting some Combative Edge M1's to come in and when I checked before they said Sept 2012 but they're still listed as coming soon. Whoever from the manufacturing companies that keep giving these dates that they cant make just need to stop. If they cant have it there by a certain time thats fine but its just funny when they say a certain month and then still arent out for a few months after that. I realize that manufacturing knives isnt easy but shouldnt they be able to speculate on the ACTUAL release date more accurately? Or am I just over reacting?

I received mine about a week ago and totally satisfied with it. I buy very few folders but the feel and balance is great in the hand. Smooth opening and no noise. I think it was well worth the money.

Im with you chis, I am loving mine so far the knife community for some reason seems hit and miss on it for the price or really most spartan stuff because of the price but IMO it is perfectly on par for price with lets say a sebenza or other similar high ends.

Mid tech, s35vn, titanium, g10 or CF scales - crazy smooth - yes smoother than my sebenza about the only thing that it does not have on the sebenza at least on mine is the lockup is not "bank vault" like it is on Chris's stuff it has an ever so slight side to side wiggle if you hold it at the tip. I think it is a tiny sacrifice in lockup to make the action as smooth as it is.

Of course to each his or her own - for knives in these price brackets the worth really is in the eye of the beholder.

I am pretty sure it is removable and interchangable. Go to their website Spartan Blades and ask. You will get a quick answer.....
