I first saw a picture of this knife here on the forums in another subsection. It immediately caught my attention. Man what a good looking knife. So I looked it up and did some research. I all ready own a few CRK 21 and 25 knives as well as a 3.5" and 3" Hinderer. With that taken into consideration I tried to put it out of my mind. I mean did I really need another titanium frame lock knife?

A few weeks later and I was still looking at the knife. So I decided to go ahead and buy one. Yes it was a little on the high side of my price range, but I did it anyways.

When I first got the knife I immediately took a liking to it. It just felt right in my hand and looks great. The fit and finish is spectacular and it was nice and sharp right out of the box. The action was a little stiff and there was a little lock stick at first. After a few days everything smoothed out and the stick went completely away. Now the action is smooth as can be. The size is good for me. It is definitely a large folder and has a good heft to it. I don't notice the weight in the pocket though.

I have carried it at work along with a small CRK Inkosi ever since I received the knife (about a month and a half now). It has cut up cardboard and plastic and countless apples, pears and the such. It has been camping and shaved wood to start fires and used for food prep. I have not had any issues at all. It is very comfortable in the hand during hard use when a lot of pressure is being applied for hard cutting. No hot spots or rubbing. I will say it is not the best slicer but it definitely works. Still has the factory edge and is still sharp as can be. Seems Spartan did well with the steel.

Overall I really like the knife. Well made and functional. If anyone else has one I would love to hear your opinions on it.

If I could afford one. That would be 1 of three knives on the market I am interested in. I owned some t2 folders back when I was a kid and they were OK quality but an amazing one of a kind design.. This thing looks amazing. It would pair nicely with my crk.
Thanks for sharing.
Is that a flat or hollow grind? Suppose I can look at the specs.

More pics please! That would dwarf my edc ti lock.

It is a hollow grind on the blade, sharp at that. It is very high quality and well put together.

I will get more pictures in a little bit.

Nice review, I have an Akribis and it's my EDC and fan-friggin-tastic. Spartan blades is a top notch maker, and this Harsey is definitely on my list.

I suppose that's one of the reasons it won the American made knife of the year.

I said in a review sometime ago that I thought the Harsey Folder seemed like a Hinderer and Chris Reeve Collaboration. I am not a fan of coated knives, no real reason, but if I get one of these it will be their Black Coated model. It is just really good looking.

I watched your review of the SHF. It was one of the reviews that pushed me over the edge on purchasing the knife. It deffinetly has parts of Hinderer and CRK formed into the knife.

Very nice, these look great.

How thick are this at the edge. I had a Pallas folder and thickness behind the edge was way too thick for my uses.

The blade thickness is listed at .154" where the Pallas is listed at .153". I have not handled the Pallas so I can't compare the two. What I can tell you is that the SHF definitely not a dainty folder. With that being said IMHO it cuts very well, is very usable and ergonomic.

I think that might be a safe assumption Scott!!!

The SHF is definitely on my short-list...just waiting for that "dream deal" to pop-up, hahaha :D

I agree completely with Slauterhause; after getting the Akribis and dealing with Curtis, I immediately took a liking to Spartan blades.

Funny this should pop back up today. We have a customer here in town that bought one from us a couple of weeks ago. He stopped back in briefly today to say it has knocked all other knives out of his rotation and has become his absolute favorite folder. Just thought I would share!

That's awesome - you know it's a great product when you go out of your way to let the vendor know how much you love it!

If I haven't found one in the price-range by the time I get my next bonus (or next tax season) I will definitely contact you, Whitty!

The SHF sure is a great looking folder. I came very close to buying one myself. But another knife that I found more desirable just happened to be in stock at one of my favorite dealer sites recently. So I got that instead (two , actually).

But I still like to SHF very much.

Still loving it...

I cant believe how well the edge has held up. No complaints at all about mine.
