Spartan Blades: Worth it?

They look cool as hell and I bet they're pretty durable, but the price seems kind of outrageous to me. They want $150 for their neck knife, called the Enyo. For just a few dollars more, I got myself an ESEE Junglas with a whopping 10-inch blade. Seems like a much better deal to me.

Anyone here have personal experience with a Spartan blade? And did the performance justify the price?

Handled the enyo and Phobos at blade. I think the price comes from the steel for one. Probably also that there aren't many of them made. They definitely aren't cranked out thousands at the time.

If you want an S30V neck knife bad enough then I guess it's worth it. Only you can make that decision.

You can get a Pat Crawford necker in s30v for 130ish. Just another option to ponder. I will link bladehq directly since the owner posts on this site IIRC. I handled both at Blade this year. It goes down to what shape you prefer more and how much you want to spend. Personally, I liked the Crawford more. Both had identical fit and finish, which was excellent.

I don't know anything about this Manufacturer but it seems as though you are paying for a lot of design and some part steel. You can get a $40 necker from Becker called the BK-14 that will just as every bit durable. Just my humble two cents.

I'll admit to never have seen/handled any of their knives unfortunately. That being said they seem to be trying to put themselves at the same level of Fehrman or Busse. Tough, solid, big (mostly) combat/utility knives. High quality fit/finish. I don't think I've ever read anything negative about the products or the company itself. If they are at the same level as Fehrman/Busse (and from what I've read they seem to be), then their prices are reasonable.

In that case, it seems pretty reasonable. Busse's cheapest blade that I've ever seen for sale started at $269.

I own an Enyo and an Ares and I couldn't be happier with both. They're a small company owned by two ex-Special Forces guys. Their products are outstanding and their customer service is superb.

I've been waiting for this to come up; I think their stuff looks awesome, and they seem like high quality blades to me. I bought one of their Spartan helmet beads at Blade for when I get the Cold Steel Spartan.

I have always heard good things about Spartan Blades but the $150 for the neck knife scared me off as well. I love the look of the Enyo but just can't bring myself to pay that much for it.

I have every one of their blades except for the tanto. I can honestly say their build quality is outstanding. The grinds are perfect, and the edges are all rounded nicely. They come laser sharp, both the owners are the onu two working when I had placed my orders and actually called a couple times to check up on order status and what I thought. They are all and all OUTSTANDING. I agree they are a bit pricey but have no problem saying they are totally worth it. A previous poster talked about having the Ares. I have owned both busse and strides fixed blades, but the ares is far and above my favorite fixed. I may sound biased but I just love their work, designs, and customer service. Top notch.
