Spartan vs Camper?

Much of this thread revolves around whether or not having the saw. As jackknife said, it depends on your lifestyle. If you're like me, most of my EDC is office and going around town, then the saw is something that it is extremely unlikely that I'll need, and I won't carry a SAK with it. However, anytime I go for a walk anywhere around the woods, I'll carry a Huntsman (because also cannot part from the scissors).

To sum it all up, my suggestion is that you get both (or others that you like) and adapt your EDC according to what you anticipate that you'll be doing...
At the risk of opening a big philosophical discussion, IMHO I think that that is one of the reasons why there are so many SAKs models.

I mentioned in another thread yesterday that at least a couple of times I've thought I bought a Spartan and received a Camper instead, presumably because of the seller not recognizing the saw, maybe seeing it as a liner or something.

A plus in that you gain a useful tool and a nice handling girth (as in #20 above) for nothing; a minus if you prefer a thinner carry.

I think the saw is a plus. It is why I wish I had the Farmer as opposed to my Pioneer. I second the above quote though... the full size philips (vs. the micro screwdriver in the corkscrew) is more useful for me - hence I would go with the Hiker vs. Camper. Between Camper vs. Spartan, I think the camper is still my pick. Someone else mentioned it here, but the extra layer of thickness does make the SAK feel differently in hand... and I think a little thicker is helpful! - Josh
I like having the saw even though i dont use it all the time. I do use it to trim the trees some and it works great for sheet rock. I like to tinker and do home projects and it is a good tool for that.
