Welcome to the Psycho Ward Rene!!!! I'm the one that introduced the guys here to the Ballistol. I prefer the liquid, cheaper and lasts longer, but a can or two of the aerosol is mighty handy. Works great for cleaning guns too.:D

Yvsa,
Wow, thanks for the quick response....I want to order some and didn't know if one was preferred over the other...Thanks :D

You're welcome Rene.:)

If you do a search on Ballistol you should find a lot of info. There was at least one extensive thread on it.
I put some in a bowl and let it evaporate for several days under my monitor where it was nice and warm. It left a sort of whitish residue that was nice and slippery. I left it for quite a while and it never seemed to totally dry out. Me Likey!:D to use one of Bruise's lines.;)

Being bored and having no life, I did a search on that phrase. The first instance of its use was by Sarge. Somehow it was attributed to me.

Although I enjoy butchering the Queen's english as much as the next guy, I can't take credit for this one. :)

Bruise, I haven't seen you since the troll alert and was getting a little antsy.

I need my quotient of Bruise one liners.

I figured I needed a few days away after my shameful behaviour in Uncle's place of business.

But who could stay away when such a bountiful harvest of blems is displayed? Maybe I'll report this post to the mods, saying that troublemaker Bruise guy is back and should be quietly put out to pasture.

I didn't see anywhere or anytime you did anything shameful Bruise. The shame doesn't lay with any of -us- but the one who instigated the lies to begin with.
It's over, for a while anyway, until the next time. Methinks he has popped up on another forum. I be watchin.:D

Bruise, I concur fully with Yvsa. If you're staying away from the Cantina because of that, please don't. As far as I can tell, you were not in the wrong whatsoever. Besides, you are one of the funniest forumites around; I miss your humor:).

Thanks, but I disagree. One should not purposefully try to cause trouble at someone's place of business. If it were an actual knife store: I see it as Uncle Bill's House of Cutlery and me going in and poking a customer with a stick to see if I can get a reaction.

Not my store, not my building. I'm just a customer like everyone else. I should have let store security (Rusty) do the "bouncing".

I did a search... I was only gone 4 days.

What about that Ballistol eh?

It's called "Live & Learn."
The other part is called "Forgive & Forget."

I often tell my daughter that I make
at least one mistake every day.
I'm too embarrassed to enumerate for her
a dozen or so real mistakes every day.
I still need to learn some things.

Part of Forgive & Forget is to apply it to yourself
so that you can move on.

Trying to recall a quote from Ursula K LeGuin's fiction;
If you turn your back on the city and walk away from it,
you are still on the city road.
You must choose another path.
You must have another goal.
Then you walk another road.

What about that Ballistol eh?
Particularly good in the butterscotch flavor.

I see I'm not the only one who missed you. If I'd had your email, I'd have sent you a note to see what was wrong.

Bruise, I understand what you are saying. I thought about this a bit last night before I went to bed, and I decided that for me, at least, this forum is far more than a store. I'm not sure what it is exactly, but it's not just about the khukuris and khukuri sales, though that's certainly a part of it. As far as it is possible to be friends with people whom you have never met, I consider many here to be my friends. There is something special that goes on here. You just have to take a look at the rest of bladeforums to figure out how special this place really is. I've seen very few people turned away from the Cantina, and in every case, they really had to work at it. To me, what you did was a natural reaction towards someone abusing something wonderful that shouldn't be abused. Not once did he abuse it, but many times. Once or twice might be accidental, but after a while it gets hard to ignore behavior like that. Well, I'm just rambling on now, so I think I'll quit writing. I hope your self-imposed exile doesn't last too long.

It's grandpa's old feed-store down by the railroad tracks.
You know,
the one with the wood-stove in the middle of the floor
surrounded by rocking chairs.

Everyone likes to come & sit a spell,
and warm themselves in the company of their friends.
Talk about seeds, & cows, & ballast oil,
& fixing the old truck.
Maybe buy a new knife.

It's a family of a sort.
They don't take kindly to strangers clomping in
tracking mud and acting like a jerk.
Sometimes somebody in the circle loses their temper about it.
Couple of days later it's all put behind.

Course on Saturday night the loading dock is empty,
the musicians and dancers and others show up,
and some people are selling food & drink in the corner.

It's cantina time :D

Bruise? you just did some troll-spotting with a keen eye. You were guarding the house. :)
