The deadline for submissions to
Knives Annual 2008 was Dec 31st, 2006

. This year they are saving money and having the printing done overseas (no surprise, eh?). That said, the publication needed to be finished with that much more lead time.
All images I have been submitting from January-on have been slated for
Knives 2009. Since the
old deadline was around May 31st, Knives 2008 will have a span of about 7 mos of new knives. For those who had work done it that period, it bodes well for you.
I'll bet the quality of the printing is going to be impressive also. I just purchased a signed copy of
Scott Slobodian's book:
Sword Art, and the quality of the images is humbling, and the quality of the printing (done in China) had Scott raving accolades.
After looking and reading that book, I have substantially more appreciation for his style of photography and the Japanese cutlery. What skill!
There are quite a few great coffee-table books available for our craft. Mostest Excellente!
