Here is a large knife I have been excited about for some time. Since I started mine I have also started one for a Blade formite.

TAke a look and see what you think. Both 5/32" 0-1 with 5.5" blade length. 11.25" overall.

Mine

Can you spot the first and second temper line?

A great backpacking knife for sure.

I think this will be a repeat design ;)

Brian:

What kind of handle pins are you using?

Where did you come across that Micarta?

Robert

My Man Robert! Nice camper you have in your house right now :D
I got that micara from Koval. I think I am only going to buy it in 5" x 12" sheets from now on. Its burgundy (linen) with loveless bolts. I want to get some Corbies but they cost a little more.

Burgundy micarta..yummy. Never tire of seeing those wonderful lines. You've nailed it again IMHO. Congrats!

Nice job.Looks like you kinda routed out the handle area and then skeletonized it,Is this an alternative to tapering the tang? And does it work to reduce the weight as effectively? Once again Great Job Thanx Steve

It lightens the handle nice. Havent ever tapered a tang but I dont see why it wont be as effective. Hogging out material just with different methods.
This one balances right at the finger grove. Choke back on the handle for a front heavy chop :D

Here are a few shots of the handle. Nice curves ;)
Burnsey, I wont leave yours too flat but it will resemble this. Email me what you think.

Very nice!! Great work on that handle contouring.

Nice! I like that burgndy micarta for a using knife...verry pretty...a nice change from the other colors and goes well with brass pins...

It's awful - :)

(-ly gorgeous).
I love the coco. grain pattern-the opposing darker vees at the top of the handle radius and the solid horizontal through the middle of the handle. Nice subtle touch there sir.
This one is the one-it's not getting away. Beautiful work as always Mr. Goode.
Can't wait to use it like you intended-hard!
