I didn't want to take away from or intrude on anyone's Insingo thread .... so thought I would ask a question in a new one. From what I've read, the Insingo blade design was a collaboration between KnifeArt and CRK. Since its introduction, it has gone on to be sold by places other than KnifeArt. Frankly, I love sheepsfoot, modified sheepsfoot and wharncliffe blades. Does anyone know why the Insingo is only made in either a regular finish or with micarta inlays? I have a small with the micarta and really like it. I would love to see some made with other embellishments like with the regular blade-shape Sebenzas. I am hoping this has been discussed before and someone can put me in the know.

I think I remember reading that Chris said he'd make a damascus of Insingo with other inlays if someone ordered one. Could be wrong but I think I remember reading that.

I dont think crk couldnt handle anything more than just the plain and micarta. I hope soon they will attempt more with the insingo blade...put me down for a raindrop...how awesome would that look?

I think they made a handful and only that many insingos with wood inlays. I seem to remember someone else tried to order one and they said they will only do them plain or in micarta.

The insingo was a collaboration between KnifeArt and CRK. Knifeart offered it exclusively for 1 year, then after that, CRK could make and offer them to others dealers and by CRK themselves. CRK has done this with Knifeart, TNK, Plaza Cutlery, etc. where they come out with a design/CGG/etc. and its only offered by that dealer as their exclusive. With the insingo, after that set time elapsed, it was allowed to be sold by all.

As far as a damascus insingo, its a no-go. I recently emailed CRK asking for one and they said that they have had many requests for one, but at this time, there was no plans to offer a damascus insingo.

Should they offer one, I will be in line to get one.

That's really a shame. Would really love to have one with some attractive wood inlays .... and damascus ... well, that would be unbelievably nice. Maybe one day, things will change. I see I am not alone in my affection for the Insingo and for an embellished one as well!

It's not because of limited production. It has to do with the finish on the blade. They explained it to me twice on the phone a CRK, but I can't remember the exact details. My fault for dullness, not there's (nor my insigno).

I would love more Insingo options. It is absolutely my favorite blade shape. It is also my Desktop wallpaper! :)

I really want to do a blade swap with my regular blade micarta and get an insingo blade. I asked CRK but I guess they are not doing blade replacement for the insingo right now.
My guess is the demand is very high for the insingo right now and there just trying to keep up with orders.

p.s. And if anyone wants to trade their insingo blade for my S30V + $ I'm all ears :D

A damascus Insigno with Mammoth Bark inlays:thumbup:

If that ever happens and I don't get one i'll post my addy here, buy you guys plane tickets, and you all can come on over and kick me in the...

Well needless to say I'd sell off alot of my knives for one of those...

I got one with African Blackwood inlays a couple of months back, but was told they no longer would be offering wood inlays.

Large Micarta Insingo = great
Large Micarta Insingo + new handles (25) = Perfect
Having both versions = Charlie Sheen "winning" LOLOLOLOLOL...hrmmmm

That is what mine was showing too, but the mail man came knocking with it a little while ago.

Awesome! I'm jealous. Just got home so....I'm done with work at 1 tomorrow. Hopefully I too will be surprised! Show some pics...

I own two, they are my favorite blade shape, immediately after a large regular with a swedge:D I wish they would allow some embellishments of a knife that should be a great seller for them.
