What tooth size are you folks preferring?

I have a couple of folding saws around (Gerber, Outers) but would like to buy a Pocketboy 170.

Every time I start to buy one, I can't decide on which of the four tooth sizes that are available: L, M, F, XF.

I would be primarily cutting hardwoods; possibly frozen. I'm guessing "fine" would be the correct choice for me, but I wonder if "medium" would be faster/better for field use.

Thanks for any input,

Depends on what you'll be doing with the saw. The med. tooth is a better alrounder. Cutting firewood branches an inch in diameter or bigger. It'll really help with the bigger stuff.
The fine tooth will be better for shelter/trap building. You know, notching finer woodworking stuff.
As most things involve some sort of tradeoff,I would recommend you get both blades(or access to someone who has them already) and find out for yourself based on your particular needs and personal preferences.
You never know, you might even find you like the L tooth. Just depends.

As I noted in another Silky thread, I cut dead and dry pomegranate, persimmon, and lemon wood with large teeth. Of course, they weren't frozen here in Los Smogeles. I have a medium tooth blade for bone saw use. Why not get a couple blades?

If you are thinking about moving up in capability from the Gerber and Outers saws, consider the Super Accel 210. It weighs an ounce or two more but the blade is significantly thicker and over an inch and a half longer.
