Spear point blades

I've got a lot of time for them, but it does depend on the pattern (try one on a Slimline Trapper! :D:eek: ) In some ways, you could even argue they are the most 'traditional' blade.

I like the looks of a wide bellied spear blade, but prefer the more slender variety in daily use.

Unless it is task related I really don't have a favorite main blade shape but the spear point most definitely has the most pocket time of any of them.
My first knife was the Camillus Cub Scout and after that was a SAK Tinker so I spent about 10 years using mostly the spear point.
I also had an Imperial and Sabre fishing knives but they didn't get carried as often but that I think was due to utility not blade shape.

All blade shapes have their purpose but I am most familiar with the spear.

Will, that Kerry Hampton is a beautiful knife. I really like that. What's the blade steel on that beauty?

The spear blade on these older Big Jacks was mighty sexy, with their parallel sides and pointy tip.
