This is a style knife I use to make years ago, when I go to the forge and just forge a knife this is usually what I come up with. Hope you like it.

Blade is forged 1084 steel, Clay hardened with a light temper line.
Handle is Stablized spalted Maple, with nickle silver pins
Spine is file worked in a rope pattern.
Handle also is tapered to make knife balance better.
O.A.L. is 8-1/16 "
Blade is 4"
Guard is forged into blade.

Wow! That's nice. Looks like it would make a great in pocket EDC also.
I like the the guard forged into the blade. Especially the way the guard is smoothed and rounded. Very practical.

I buy a knife now and then, and do not sell many. This piece is a really good knife as well as a real value. It fits the hand well and will do a variety of jobs.
If you had one small knife this would be my pick for a white tail or a trout. The 1084 gets razor sharp. I have been playing with it most of the day. If your looking for a nice package at a really great deal Ray can do the job. I taped off about five feet of double braid yacht braid in dacron and just got tired of standing at the bench cutting. The blade is .160 just in front of the handle and has a nice distal taper. The guard is unusual but really works well the knife does not reposition it self in your hand. As time goes by I think I will find this on my belt quit often.

Be well
Floyd
