The steel in this blade is 1/4" thick 1095 and heat treated with clay to produce a nice Hamon with an edge hardness of around 59 Rc. Contrasting blade finish is achieved with a tough black oxide on the flats and a light steely gray on the bevels also the spine is accented with file work. For a handle black spacers and highly figured Koa wood scales were selected, attached to the knifes full tang with epoxy and loveless bolts and finished off with Tung Oil. The pictured brown 8-9 ounce leather sheath can be configured to either left or right hand carry or scout carry.
