One of the best Onion Knife on my opinion. Exteremle comfortable. Lock is best from what is available todat. Blade is surprizingly very practical, even it looks pretty unusual. And it is just beautifull!. I think it is only ZT300 may compete with this look.

I really like two of mine - SpecBump CPM 154 and SpecSpeedBump with Sandvic. Thinking about CPM S30V version too.

Thanks, Vassili.

Bit of a strange question here so bear with me.

Considering that there is a flipper on this knife, and that it can't ride tip-up, have either of you ever come close to accidently deploying the blade while clipped?

I find that with knives like the avalanche that don't have a flipper, the odds of the blade not launching in your pants is slim because the blade has to be pushed at a precise spot. With flipper knives, I've often wondered if by coming into constant contact with the pocket seam, there could be a danger of the flipper activating the AO.

With AO knives that don't have a safety, I've always felt more comfortable with those that ride tip-up, in that should the blade go off, at least its aiming away from the important stuff lol.

I usually do not use clips and always removes it from handle, so do not really answer your question - never has such a problem. But this knife has safety switch to block it from accidental deploying.

Thanks, Vassili.

I can't tell from your pics, but where on the knife is the safety? I honestly had no idea that the Spec-bump had a safety, but may now seriously consider getting one if I can see/figure out where it is.

I did not find it myself for some time... It is on second picture right near clip on top of the "USA" label. Quite convinient place for this kind of lock.

Thanks, Vassili.

I can't believe after all the times I've checked out this knife, I didn't notice that safety! :o Thanks for the point out, and I'll have to start rolling my pennies now I guess :D

Nice knife, mine came not too sharp but after a reprofiling I can tell you It's one of the best cutters I've got. Very confortable in hand and the AO feature is always welcome.

I carry mine without the safety engaged, and have never had a problem with it accidentally opening. Great knife.

I carry mine everyday, at work and at home. I do maintenance and installation at my place of work, and with all the crawling, climbing, banging, carying tools in my pocket, etc, it has NEVER opened.

It wasn't all that sharp out of the box, but as soon as I figure out how to sharpen a recurve blade, I'll fix that.
