Hello at all,

as a knife collector I have also some Buck knives. One knife of the collection is a frontiersman whith a whit handle. I heared, that it is sold not very often and I am very proud of ist. Last week I got a special 119 special. It has a polished Blade and the black Handle has Elements (Pummel? I dont know the correct Name) is made of brass. The knife was made in 1991. I cold not find anything about this knife in the web. Is there anybody who knows anything about this knife? It looks very pritty and I wold be happy if you can help me.

best Regards,
Herbert

Pack Rat,
thank you for your welcome!
I'm not able to upload a pic in the forum, so I'll send it via mail. The only thing I need is your address.

Richard,
thank you very much for the Information!! than the knife is a serious collecting knive. Isn't it? I got it for about 65 Euro. That would be approximately 90 Dollars. Thats not too much for the knife isn't it?

Best regards,
Herbert

p.s. please excuse my horrible scool english it's a long time ago I used it the last time. I hope instantly that you understand what I mean.

Would that from one of the Klinkhammer collections? I have a 121 with cherry handles and white stag trim.

Herbert - If the pommel is made of brass, the front guard should be also. A polished blade is nice; with the brass elements, that definately makes it worth 65 Euro/90 dollars... :D

Thank you all for your kind answers :-).

wh4f,
yes, it is in near mint condition (Ihope that is what you mean). It is a bit used, but it has the original (awful made by BUCK) grinding, that I found also at other new Buck knives ;-).

Evil Eye Earl,
it is no Problem to make a Picture, but I'm not able to upload it in the Forum. Please send me your email and I send you a Picture.

Mik Kerins,
I Dont know anything about the Klinkhammer-Collection. I had a colleague whith th Name Klinkhammer, but neither she nor her husband collets Knives. I bought it from a women, that sells the hunting eqipment of her Grandfather.

chickentrax,
both, Pommel AND Guard are made of brass, The Gard whith a black layer in the middle - just like the normal 119.

Best regards,
Herbert

I don't use IE, but somewhere in the Internet preferences (or options, whatever) is a setting for Show Images and Allow Animations...try enabling them...

This is a factory restoration blade from 1989 that Joe Houser did.
Sorry I didnt explain better! V stamp on blade.
It is serialized because Joe (Buck Knives) logged it into the factory restoration log. It was the 27th restoration to date.
Thank you very much Joe and Buck!!! AWESOME knives!
Jim

thanks for the extra info , if it was a restoration in 1989 i wonder when those were originally made ? (the brass and mirror)

This is a restored 1989 blade that was done in 2006 to look like the 1991 knife! This was a "special order custom" I guess you could call it?
I love it! I posted a pic of the cert! At least I think I posted it :D
Jim

thanks jim i think ive got it now;) , i wish i would have thought of that i had to pay almost 200 for each of mine:eek: it would have been a lot cheaper to have them do a custom , nice job and thanks for sharing
