Special Buck release

I'll give it a try.... Macassar is an ebony wood from Indonesia. The harvesting of Macassar was unsustainable and sourcing becoming difficult. Starting in 1994, the handles changed to an Obeche Dymondwood, a birch plywood with the top veneer being Obeche. Obeche had a very similar appearance to Macassar ebony. Crelicam is the brand name for a Taylor Guitars project raising and harvesting ebony in a sustainable manner in Cameroon, Western Africa. Buck started using the Crelicam ebony about 2019,
(corrections welcome)
So I suspect the 110 from Bourbon and Blades is Crelicam, not Macassar. Thanks, I knew about Macassar and Crelicam but was unsure about Obeche. Where does Shedua fit in?

That is correct. I helped get that project going and the 110 is Crelicam Ebony. We looked at oak used on bourbon barrels but did not have enough time to source a stabilized barrel wood to build them with. Maybe next year?
Thanks. That would have been cool or have it encased in a little oak barrel. The reason why I mentioned Macassar it because that is what they say in their description.

Where does Shedua fit in?
Shedua (Segua misp.) was used very briefly on the 112 Ranger between the first 3 micarta versions and the switch to ebony. I do not think it was used on the 110's. A 112 with Shedua handles would be a good find.

These knives are still available online btw... psa
I'm surprised. Only 100 each of the knives. I wonder how big the event was, it was an all day thing and I know they had a free concert.
I thought the pricing was pretty reasonable. My knives arrived today, no issues.

Kind of makes me wonder if more than 100 were made. There is another brand where only 50 were made and even those are available. The other brand has a small congress of which the handle is made of barrel wood and there is a barrel shield.

Mine were supposed to arrive 2 days ago... haven't shipped yet....

Mine said they shipped but the tracking code is not recognized by UPS.
Any update? They emailed me back and said that they had been closed the weekend and Monday. They said that ups picks up on Monday though. (?) Now it's 630 eastern on Tuesday and still nothing on ups site. Originally said it was shipped on the 12th, so not really sure why the weekend mattered.

Apparently ups lost the package. New one on the way. According to ups site, an investigation has been opened to find the package. The investigation not opened by me.
Rhc resolved the situation quickly and I have the new knife in hand. It is a very nice spitfire.

Still interested in hearing H Happy Hippo experience.
